The National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science (NIHHS) in South Korea is currently evaluating its grape germplasm for downy mildew resistance. While their past focus was on fruit characteristics for table grape cultivars, they now plan to incorporate disease-resistant genetic resources into their breeding program to develop new, resistant table grape varieties.
